Prattville considers raise for city employees following a Center for Business Study
(June 17, 2009) Prattville, Ala. (WSFA) -- The city of Prattville is looking at giving some city employees a raise. It's all tied into a pay study.

The study by Auburn Montgomery's Center for Business and Economic Development looked at similar cities in the state to see how their pay matched up with Prattville's.

City officials tell WSFA 12 News they want to make sure Prattville remains competitive in payment for jobs like paramedics, police and firefighters.  The study found Prattville should consider raising the pay for firefighters, EMT's and waste water technicians. That would cost about $400,000 dollars.

During next Monday's work session, the recommendation will be presented to the city council. The following week it will be voted on.
